Concord Hospital Welcomes New Orthopaedic Surgeons

Drs. Neil Herman and Serena Young join Concord Hospital Orthopaedics - Laconia.

Concord Hospital Orthopaedics – Laconia, a Concord Hospital Medical Group specialty practice, is pleased to announce that Dr. Neil Herman and Dr. Serena Young recently joined the group.

Dr. Herman has 30 years and Dr. Young has 20 years of experience as orthopaedic surgeons. Prior to joining Concord Hospital Orthopaedics – Laconia, they practiced in Framingham, Mass. They were also clinical instructors at Tufts University School of Medicine and Boston University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Herman was team physician for the football programs at Framingham High School and Holliston High School and Dr. Young for Ashland High School, all based in Massachusetts.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Herman and Dr. Young to Concord Hospital Orthopaedics in Laconia,” said Bill Dooley, VP operations/chief administrative officer, Concord Hospital Medical Group. “They have practiced together for 20 years and are excited to bring their expertise to our patients in the Lakes Region.”

Dr. Herman earned his medical degree from the University of Montreal in Canada. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Herman also completed postgraduate specialty fellowships in arthroscopy, sports medicine, and shoulder and reconstructive surgery at the University of Toronto Orthopaedic and Arthritic Hospital.

Dr. Young attended medical school and completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. She completed her fellowship in sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Drs. Herman and Young are board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
